A native of Dallas, Texas, Von Miller attended DeSoto High School, where, in his senior year had 76 tackles, 6 sacks and 14 tackles for loss of yards. These stats earned him the District 8-5A title of Defensive MVP. A top weakside linebacker recruit, Von selected Texas A&M where he played defensive end his freshman year. He was named a Freshman All-Big 12 after an impressive season including 22 tackles, 10 solo stops, 2 sacks and 4 tackles for loss of yards.
His sophomore year, Von moved back into the weakside linebacker position and led the team in sacks with 3.5. He didn't stop there. He followed up by leading the nation in sacks his junior year, posting 17 total. That same year he was named both first team All Big-12 and a first-team All-American. By the time Von was a senior he won the Butkus Award for being the nation's top linebacker and he was a first team All- American. It's no surprise that his hard work and skills led him to be a top draft in the 1st round of the 2011 NFL draft.
Picked up by the Denver Broncos, Von was named AFC Defensive Player of the Week and was selected to the 2011 and 2012 Pro Bowl team. He also was named the AP Defensive Rookie of the Year. Now in training mode for his upcoming second NFL Season, Von is working hard so that he can continue to post impressive numbers and help the Broncos to the playoffs in the 2012 season." With Entering the 2012-13 season Denver had high expectations and Von certainly did not disappoint. He had 68 tackles, 18.5 sacks, 6 forced fumbles and 1 interception all while the Broncos secured the number one seed in the regular season.
